About Me!
I was born in North Carolina and spent my childhood there. I spent my high school and college years in Virginia. I went to William and Mary and got out before I burned out, so I still have very fond memories of my time there. I spent grad school at Duke, which was a hard thing since I’m a die-hard UNC fan (GO HEELS!). Possibly the only good thing that came out of those 2 years was, I met my husband when my car broke down on the side of the road, and we got married 8 months later. Now I’m back in North Carolina living with him and my very queen, very fat kitty in a sort of old house that we are constantly working on…but it’s all good 
My two favorite places in the whole world are Bugg’s Island Lake in southern Virginia, and the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia, particularly the Eastern Shore. I even love the sulfur smell that constantly emanates from the mud there, and for the record, I have sunk waist-deep in that mud with a single step and spent a good 10 minutes trying to maneuver myself out of it. That stuff is worse than quicksand. At least quicksand is dry, so when you have to work your way to laying face down horizontally you don’t get sulfuric mud in every orifice of your body.
I love God with my whole heart–despite the fact that he made sulfuric mudholes :)–and I strive to follow Him every day. I am saved by grace through God’s son Jesus Christ. I am learning how important relationships and fellowship with my brothers and sisters are, which is a big step for me since I am an introvert and my confidence levels have not been that high in the past. But take it from me, the more you force yourself outside your comfort zone, the better life gets.
